With one of the highest job rates in year it is going to take some extra effort to make you stand out in this highly competitive job market. Here are 5 new strategies to get you that new job.

number one- Start by visiting company websites were you particular skill set would benefit that company. For example if you are good in sales find a company that sales growth is a key factor. Make sure to put your accomplishments from your previous sales experience in your resume. Also while visiting these websites look for a link called Careers. If they don't have a link they usually will post job on a Local Job Search Website.

Second- Networking is a main key ingredient. When looking for a job use social networking sites, such as linkedin, facebook, foursquare and other social media platforms. If you put yourself out there and let the people you know you are looking the better chance that the company they work for might be hiring. It's always good to have a foot in the door before you even go to apply.

Third- Consider alternate jobs. If you are a salesman but are having trouble getting a job in sales, you should open your viewing spectrum. Take for instance you may have to start out as a merchandiser. If you do good job in this lesser role and show you are dedicated you can move up the ladder quickly to get back into that sales position.

Fourth- Go to job fairs. These are great places to network and to get to know the H.R. people who do the hiring at most of the companies you will be trying to get employed by. Showing them that you can take the time and show interest in the company shows how dedicated you could possibly be for their company.

Fifth- Get some help from an expert. There are local job services in every city. May it be your local unemployment office or a temp agency. These agencies have the inside track on who is hiring in your area.
